A Fall Wedding at Lydia Mountain Lodge in Stanardsville, VA | Nick and MaryKate
There’s no better place for a fall wedding than the Blue Ridge Mountains! Nick and MaryKate chose the perfect venue with Lydia Mountain Lodge, which is located in the Blue Ridge foothills. We had a beautiful day, a beautiful couple - couldn't have asked for a more perfect combination! And these two have to be the most laid back couple I've ever worked with. They were so relaxed the entire day, just going with the flow and enjoying the time they had to spend with each other and with their friends and family. And since Nick and MaryKate now live in Chicago, coming back home to Virginia was kind of like a destination wedding for them! I know they really enjoyed getting to spend this special day surrounded by all of their loved ones.
The cabins were all so cute! Nick and MaryKate spent several days in them with friends and family both before and after the wedding. It's always such a great idea to make the wedding celebration last more than one day!
MaryKate was all smiles the whole day!
The flowers were a team effort! The bridesmaids (and bridesman) were putting together the boutonnieres while MaryKate had her makeup done.
I'm always a fan of brides going with boots instead of heels - so much more practical for outdoor weddings!
Aww what a happy bunch!
Nick and the groomsmen all got ready in the cabin right next door the girls' cabin.
Gotta have those pre-wedding drinks :)
Warming up before their ceremony performance!
Nick and MaryKate decided to do a First Look and I'm so glad they did! It was such a sweet moment, and we had lots of time to get photos of the two of them before their ceremony.
These guys had each other laughing all day!
Seriously, can you imagine a better backdrop for a wedding ceremony?
The live ceremony music was so beautiful!
I just love this shot of Nick and all of his moms!
Post-ceremony, Nick and MaryKate followed Jewish tradition and went back to their cabin for a few minutes to themselves. It was also a good chance to check on their dogs, and of course we had to grab a few shots of their furbabies :)
This was one of the largest wedding parties I've ever worked with, and they were awesome! The sun was setting and it was getting chilly, but they were total champs and had big smiles despite the cold :)
Nick was very proud to show off his ring to the bridesmaids :)
Goofy groomsmen poses are my favorite!
The decor was perfect. I just love the fall leaves incorporated into the centerpieces.
I love it when so many friends and family members give toasts!
Why have one wedding cake when you can have a ton of pies?!
Once the music started, the dance floor was packed! Nick and MaryKate put together an awesome playlist that kept guests of all generations on the floor :)
Congratulations again Nick and MaryKate!
