A Classic DC Wedding at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, DC | Hugh and Joan
Hugh and Joan's wedding day was absolutely beautiful! Their ceremony and reception were at the Daughters of the American Revolution Museum in Washington, DC which is such an incredible place. I'd never been there before, but I can't wait to go back! With so much history, the giant columns, and the views overlooking the Washington Monument - it is the quintessential DC venue. And of course most importantly - so many gorgeous spots to take pictures :)
A lot of brides and bridesmaids have to squeeze into a tiny hotel room to get everyone ready - not these ladies! This "bridal suite" was enormous, with tons of space for everyone to spread out.
Meanwhile, the guys hung out in a fancy conference room - they didn't need as much space for hair and makeup products :)
Here she comes! Everyone had to get their phones ready, even the bystanders in the street :)
Joan's son and daughter walked her down the aisle and it was just the sweetest! They handed her off to Hugh with a kiss on the cheek that I think had everybody tearing up!
I can't get over how beautiful the DAR Museum is. Such a perfect, elegant backdrop for a wedding ceremony!
This had everyone cracking up! Hugh just had to show off his ring haha.
Look at that beautiful veil! It took multiple members of the wedding party to place it just right for photos haha. Any future brides reading this - if you're wondering whether to get a veil, the answer is yes. And the longer the better!
Such a good looking family!
You cannot beat this rooftop view!
Dinner was held in DAR's beautiful O'Byrne Gallery - every room in this place was just gorgeous!
All of the toasts were awesome, and there were a lot of them! You can tell Hugh and Joan have so many people that love them and wanted to speak about what wonderful people they are :)
I don't know what was so funny during their first dance, but it sure made for some cute pictures :)
It was a gorgeous night for being outside under the stars! After the first dances, everyone moved outside to enjoy the rest of the reception on the portico.
Congratulations Hugh and Joan! And thank you to all the wonderful vendors who helped put their special day together.
