Maroon and Orange Virginia Tech Hokies Wedding at the Westin Washington Dulles
Megan and Tim are married! These are two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, and I’m so happy they are now husband and wife. Their wedding was at the Westin Washington Dulles Airport Hotel which is such a beautiful venue. The lake, the ballroom, and even the hotel rooms for getting ready were all perfect for pictures!
Both Megan and Tim are big sports fans, and they found a way to incorporate that into their wedding day. They picked orange and maroon for their fall wedding colors, and those are also the colors for one of their favorite football teams – Virginia Tech. You’ll see how Megan surprised Tim by working that into a special gift when you scroll down :)
Megan and Tim exchanged letters and gifts the morning of their wedding - Megan got a digital photo frame filled with pictures of the two of them, and Tim got a personalized Virginia Tech jersey!
The weather was absolutely gorgeous! Bright sun, blue skies, and just the right amount of fluffy white clouds.
The wedding ceremony was held at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Ashburn – I loved how beautiful this church was!
Ring bearer antics are always a fun part of a wedding ceremony :)
Try to look at these pictures without tearing up. I dare you.
Megan and Tim were doing a bubble exit outside of the church... but a few other people wanted to make an exit first!
The groomsmen had a cute photo picking up Megan, but when the bridesmaids wanted to try lifting Tim, I couldn't contain my laughter! Good effort ladies, you almost had it.
The reception space was unbelievable! Megan and Tim put so much thought into their décor and it came together perfectly. And having uplighting to match their wedding colors was such a great idea. I love bright, bold colors, and I am obsessed with these reception photos!
These two surprised everyone by donning the custom VT jerseys for the first dance!
Megan’s dad really got the party started when he sang along to Love Shack. He knew every word! I was impressed.
There was so much good music, but I think Sweet Caroline (the “let’s go Pitt” version) was a big favorite for Tim’s family!
Aren’t these cake toppers adorable? Megan told me they were made after emojis that she and Tim would use when they first started dating! They’d send them to each other when they heard their song come on.
I’ve seen plenty of bridal/dollar dances, but this had to be one of the best! I think every single guest took part in it!
Thank you Megan and Tim for throwing an awesome party and letting me be a part of it!
