DC War Memorial Wedding Photography | Kimmie and Nate
I'm so excited to share my first wedding of the 2017 season! And this was the perfect one to start with :) I first met Kimmie and Nate when we did their maternity photos back in the fall (see them here) while Kimmie was pregnant with their son Keegan. Well now Keegan is here (and as cute as can be!) and he was ready to celebrate his mom and dad's big day :) He was so well behaved the entire time, and just wait until you see his adorable suit!
Kimmie and Nate had an intimate ceremony surrounded by their closest friends and family, including a surprise appearance from Nate's brother who they didn't think could make the trip. They picked a classic venue at the DC War Memorial, which was just perfect for wedding photos. I'm a sucker for all the white columns on the monuments around the National Mall! We totally lucked out with the weather - it was a little chilly and a giant thunderstorm was rolling in, but thankfully it waited until after the ceremony to start storming. The timing could not have been any better, I think the downpour started about ten minutes after we left. Thank you Mother Nature!
Kimmie and Nate wanted to keep their wedding day simple and beautiful, and they definitely got their wish. Keep scrolling to check out the highlights from their gorgeous celebration !

Aren't her ring and bouquet stunning? I could photograph these all day. I've always been a fan of halo engagement rings, and I just love how the bright pink colors pop against the white memorial.
Here comes the cuteness! I don't think I've ever seen a more adorable best man :)
These vows you guys, so sweet. I loved hearing about how they first met and the beginning of their relationship!
Woohoo! They are husband and wife!
More people should definitely have picnics at their weddings :) Kimmie and Nate brought it all - a cute basket, a blanket, and most importantly, champagne for everyone! Nate had a very impressive bottle popping haha, with the cork flying out of the memorial and on to the grass below.
Just as Kimmie and Nate were about to begin their first dance, the overhead lights at the memorial turned on. Such perfect timing to light up their dance floor :) And no, Nate was not being rude and Snapchatting their first dance. He was playing the music!
Kimmie and Nate, thank you so much for choosing me to be your wedding photographer!
