A Classic Rochester, NY Wedding the Strathallan and Chapel Hill
I cannot get over how perfect Kathleen and Aaron’s wedding was. Happiness was just radiating out of these two the entire day! Their ceremony was at the gorgeous Chapel Hill and their reception was just down the street at The Strathallan. They celebrated with an amazing group of family and friends who totally know how to crush it on the dance floor (scroll to the bottom for the dancing pictures)!
Kathleen and I have known each other since high school, and I’m so glad we re-connected for her wedding. It worked out perfectly that we now live in the DC area - where we did their engagement session this fall - and were able to head back to our hometown in Rochester for the wedding. We were both runners back in the day (not so much anymore haha), and I loved getting to spend time with some of our old teammates who I haven’t seen in years!
I’m a little bit biased, but photographing red hair is the best :)
I loved these hair pieces that Kathleen chose. They were such a perfect accent!
The bridesmaids were hard at work steaming the veil and all the dresses!
So fierce!
A rainy morning/early afternoon cleared up just in time to head over from the Strathallan to their ceremony. I had all my umbrellas ready just in case, but thankfully we didn't need them!
This bridal suite area at Chapel Hill was a great spot to get some last minute getting ready photos.
Chapel Hill is such a beautiful place to get married! It looks like a church that belongs in Europe instead of Western New York.
So the unity candle part of the ceremony didn't quite go as planned. That darn candle would not light! Luckily Aaron was resourceful - he picked up a nearby (already lit) votive and just placed it on top. Problem solved!
Kathleen and Aaron decided to do their formal portraits at the nearby George Eastman House, and it's got to be one of my favorite locations I've ever photographed! These gardens and arches are the perfect backdrop for wedding photos.
These faces are the best!
I love this color combo with the navy and fuchsia for the bridesmaids.
I can't get over how cute these two are together. The way they look at each other is everything.
Pretty sure these guys could have second careers as models.
Oh man, the tears were flowing during the maid of honor toast. It was so sweet!
I'm gonna go ahead and say that the best wedding planning decision Kathleen made was to buy all of these balloons. Cute decor that can double as photo props are always a good idea.
Here's that awesome dance floor I mentioned. Everyone was having a blast!
Kathleen and Aaron, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day. And big thanks to all the wonderful vendors!
