Fun Tuxedo T-Shirt Wedding at the DC War Memorial in Washington, DC | Nina and Tim
Nina and Tim wanted to have fun on their wedding day. I love it when couples plan their wedding to fit their personalities, and these two just wanted to relax and celebrate with their families. So they skipped the dress and the suit and tie, opting instead for tuxedo t-shirts! The best man and maid of honor wore matching tuxedo shirts as well, and even Nina's mom joined in on the fun with a mother of the bride t-shirt.
They picked the DC War Memorial for their venue (which is one of my favorites), and a very popular venue in DC for intimate weddings. The only small challenge with the DC War Memorial is that it’s one of the lesser known monuments, so sometimes Uber drivers don’t know where it is. And the car driving ALL of the wedding guests accidentally dropped everyone off at the Korean War Memorial instead! So Tim had to run down the National Mall to find them and bring everyone back to the right place. But everything worked out perfectly, and it gave Nina a few extra minutes to connect with her dad on Skype so he could watch the wedding too!
Nina and Tim’s ceremony was just under 4 minutes long – short and sweet, exactly how they wanted it! I was a little nervous about whether I'd get enough variety in their photos in such a short amount of time, but I'm so happy with how they came out. We took some time afterwards for a few family pictures and some bride and groom portraits, and then they were off to enjoy hibachi for their reception. Nina and Tim couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day, and I’m glad I got to be a part of such a fun wedding!
