A Lydia Mountain Lodge Wedding | Stanardsville, VA | Erin and Henry
Henry and Erin had the most incredible mountain wedding at Lydia Mountain Lodge! These two are so adorable together, and had such a great group of family and friends celebrating with them. One of the best things about this venue is that instead of your wedding being a one day event, you can easily keep the festivities going all weekend long. Many of Erin and Henry’s guests stayed in cabins right on the property, so they could keep the party going and have more time to enjoy the trails and campfires!
On the morning of the wedding, Erin and the girls all got ready in one cabin, while the guys were in the cabin right next door. It was super convenient photography-wise, and also helpful for family/bridal party members who needed to run back and forth while getting ready. Henry took advantage of the proximity and had some of his groomsmen run errands for him! He sent them over to the girls’ cabin to bring Erin some yummy treats, and later to bring her another small gift and sweet letter to read before the ceremony. Always a favorite moment of mine to photograph! Erin and her dad also did a father-daughter first look, and the look on his face when he sees her for the first time is just priceless!
The wedding ceremony site at Lydia Mountain Lodge has one of the BEST views I’ve ever seen. Overlooking the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the scenery is just incredible, and Erin and Henry had the perfect blue sky day to take it all in! The forecast in the days leading up to their wedding was actually calling for rain, and everyone was so thankful for a bright, sunny day instead. Erin was just STUNNING as she walked down the aisle, and Henry could not keep it together when he saw her. Gotta love those teary groom pictures.
Erin and Henry are music lovers and first met in their college marching band (check out their engagement photos with their instruments here!), so I knew the music at their wedding was not going to disappoint. Make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom to see how much all of their guests enjoyed the music too - this dance floor was absolutely amazing. I love it when even the parents of the wedding couple are rocking out on the dance floor all night long! Their beautiful night ended with guests hanging out around the fire pit, enjoying s’mores, and a final sparkler exit. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to wrap up the last weekend of summer!
