DC Monuments Anniversary Session | Washington, DC | Hannah and Edward
Hannah and Edward got married last year in an intimate ceremony at a park in Alexandria, but they never had formal photos taken! So this anniversary session at the DC monuments was their first chance to get couples portraits done, and they totally rocked it. We started at the Lincoln Memorial (their favorite monument), and then walked to the World War II Memorial, which was especially meaningful with Edward in his Navy uniform.
I don’t think you can tell in the photos, but oh my gosh, IT WAS COLD. (At sunrise in December I guess this was to be expected!) I felt super guilty because I was completely comfortable all bundled up in my puffy winter coat, scarf, and furry boots! But Hannah was able to put her coat on every few minutes, and Edward powered through by just borrowing my fuzzy gloves in between shots haha.
Hannah is from South Carolina, so it was perfect that the state was right next to Virginia in the World War II Memorial!
This looks adorable, but I know it was tough for Edward having Hannah’s freezing cold hand on his face!
We finished up their session back at the Lincoln Memorial and this time it was Hannah’s turn - TWO cold hands on her face! At least they had changed into their warmer winter sweaters at this point.
This is what happens when you try to piggy back with someone who wants to keep his cold hands in his pockets!
