Old Town Alexandria Engagement | Alisa and Jonathan (and Azuki)

Alisa and Jonathan picked one the best places in Northern Virginia for their engagement session - Old Town Alexandria! I first met these two a few months ago, when Jon proposed to Alisa at Manassas Battlefield (you can see those photos here). Their adorable dog Azuki couldn’t make it to the proposal, so I was super excited when she came along for the engagement photos!

Like most beautiful days, Old Town Alexandria was bustling with people. Azuki can be reactive to other dogs, so Alisa and Jonathan have a special code word to help redirect her and calm her down. Wanna guess what the code word is? Don’t bother, you will never guess. It’s “Waffle House” hahaha. It was so cute to watch these two repeating “Waffle House” to Azuki every time we passed another dog!

We got so many cute shots of Azuki jumping for treats! I really think she looks like a T-rex in this one.

When I asked Alisa to run up to Jon and give him a big hug, her response was “oh, I do this to him all the time!” You can tell she’s at expert at the sneak attack hug.

After a quick outfit change, we headed to Alexandria’s waterfront. I loved the pop of color from Alisa’s pink shirt, and we even found some pink flowers later on to match it!

There may have been some geese in the water that were more interesting for Azuki than looking at my camera haha.
