Pearmund Cellars Wedding | Broad Run, VA | Sarah and Kieran
What a perfect wedding day Sarah and Kieran had at Pearmund Cellars! These two were completely unfazed by the rainy weather, and they just exude complete happiness in every single photo. I guess it’s not surprising that this adventurous, world traveling couple is able to make the best of any situation!
They met in New Zealand when Sarah moved there after college. She planned to live in New Zealand for just one year, but it quickly turned to six years because she met Kieran and fell in love! They recently moved to Nova Scotia, but decided to get married here in Virginia where Sarah grew up. As you can probably guess from their travel history, their wedding guests flew in from all over!
Kieran and Sarah are big dog lovers, and they fostered greyhounds while living in New Zealand. Shortly after moving to Canada, they made sure to adopt their own sweet pup! Their adorable dog Huia wasn’t able to make it to the wedding because of the weather, but we made sure to get lots of photos of her while getting ready!
Kieran’s family is originally from the UK, so he and his brothers wore their family’s tartan and Scottish thistles.
I love it when venues have amazing rain plans! The barrel room at Pearmund Cellars was a beautiful location for their ceremony.
Weddings with tons of laughter during the ceremony are the best!
After the ceremony, everyone moved outside for the reception on the covered patio - where nonstop laughter ensued! Candid wedding photos of couples and guests enjoying the day are my favorite thing to capture.
Sarah and Kieran’s moms were such a trip! Even though these two hadn’t met before the wedding weekend, you would have thought they were best friends. And they rocked some amazing royal wedding-esque hats.
“Kick your foot up so I can see your shoes.” Although the direction was for Sarah, Kieran wanted to show off his shoes too.
These toasts - just wow. It’s clear where Sarah and Kieran get their senses of humor because their families are so funny!
The toast by Sarah’s best friend Agnes was a perfect mix of sentimental and hilarious. She reminisced about their time together in New Zealand, and jokingly referred to the country as a “flightless bird-infested hellhole” that had everyone cracking up!
Most couples just feed each other one bite of cake. But Kieran insisted that Sarah still looked hungry so he used the airplane maneuver to keep feeding her piece after piece haha.
Eventually the rain stopped, so we were able to get a few umbrella-free photos out in the vines!
From our very first Skype call, Kieran made sure to tell me that he didn’t want any cheesy poses. So when the guys suggested Charlie’s Angels, I was a little surprised. But Kieran assured me “It’s not a pose, it’s a lifestyle.” 😂😂😂
Sometimes we do carrying photos because they’re cute. Sometimes we do them because it’s practical and it’s hard to walk quickly across rain-soaked ground in heels.
Sarah and Kieran are so clearly perfect for each other, and I’m glad I was able to be a part of the fun! A huge thank you goes out to all the vendors that made their Pearmund Cellars wedding day such a blast.
