Cherry Blossom Wedding Photos at the DC War Memorial | Washington, DC | Erica and Sam
When Erica and Sam decided to book their wedding at the DC War Memorial, they had no idea if their wedding date would line up with the perfect cherry blossom time. Thankfully, Mother Nature cooperated and they were able to have their wedding during peak bloom! Erica and Sam (and their families) all flew into DC from Tennessee for the wedding, and I’m so glad they were able to experience the cherry blossoms during their visit.
And even though it was rainy on their wedding day, that actually worked to our advantage. Y’all know those cherry blossom tourist crowds are no joke when it’s sunny out, so we were thankful to not have to navigate that craziness. These two were so laid back and did not let the rain bother them at all - they just popped open an umbrella and their smiles never disappeared!

Erica proposed to Sam, so he had an engagement ring as well - a Lord of the Rings “one ring”!
I think for a lot of couples, they reach that point with their photographer where they’re like “OK, we’re comfortable and can totally be ourselves now.” For Erica and Sam, that moment happened right about here. Cue Sam being ridiculous and making Erica laugh nonstop!
