Winter Engagement Photos in Shenandoah National Park | Luray, VA | Jesper and Keely
Jesper and Keely’s engagement session in Shenandoah National Park was on a beautiful winter day! We could not have asked for warmer weather in January, and the 60 degree temperatures made the day absolutely perfect. The timing was great - Keely is actually living in Paris right now for grad school, so we were very lucky that the weather cooperated while she was back visiting the U.S.
These two love being outdoors, and are planning their wedding in the mountains of New Hampshire! While taking the short hike down to Dark Hollow Falls, we bonded over Western New York things (they met at Syracuse University!) and how ridiculous this Virginia winter weather has been haha.

It was a bit wet and muddy around the waterfall (and through the rest of the hike), so there was quite a bit of teamwork involved in moving everyone to different spots!
I asked if they were comfortable attempting a dip while standing on the rocks, and Jesper was like “oh sure, I can let Keely dip me.” 😂 Keely got her turn afterwards.
After hiking, we made a quick stop at one of Skyline Drive’s overlooks just as the sun was going down. I love how they got two completely different looks during their engagement session - the cooler greens with the moss-covered rocks by the waterfall, and then the warm, golden sunlight during sunset!
They both broke out their musical theater skills while dancing in this field haha.
Nothing beats a Shenandoah sunset! The perfect way to end the day.
