Fall Wedding at the DC War Memorial | Washington, DC | Shannon and Devon
Excited to share this intimate fall wedding at the DC War Memorial today! Shannon and Devon met playing quidditch at UVA (amazing) and now they’re officially MARRIED! With the pandemic affecting their original plans, these two decided to do an intimate ceremony with their families and save the big party for later. And they obviously made a great choice because they wound up with a perfect day filled with family, fall colors. and some of DC’s most iconic locations.
I love the way the sunlight comes through the trees in this area next to the DC War Memorial! It was the perfect golden glow.
They had a sweet ceremony under the memorial’s dome, complete with a virtual setup so that guests unable to attend could watch from home.
The group shot is always a favorite of mine with small weddings!
After finishing up at the DC War Memorial, we made our way down the National Mall to the Reflecting Pool and the Lincoln Memorial for some final photos before the sunset.
Shannon and Devon’s first date was walking around the monuments, and the first photo they ever took together was at the Lincoln Memorial with the Washington Monument in the background. I’m so glad we got to recreate this on their wedding day!
And we capped off their wedding day with a sunset over the Potomac. Doesn’t get much better than that!
