Summer intimate wedding at DC War Memorial

Dora and Patrick had the most beautiful intimate summer wedding at the DC War Memorial! Their DC wedding day wasn’t what they initially pictured but it turned out absolutely perfect. Some of their closest friends and family joined them at the memorial for the ceremony (as well as 100 more joining virtually), and it was followed by a small reception at The Wharf.

All of Dora’s details were so beautiful, and her sister-in-law made her bouquet!

Patrick and Dora’s ceremony featured a few of their family members - their sister-in-law officiated and Patrick’s twin brother played the ukulele as Dora walked down the aisle (they grew up in Hawaii)!

A common sight at most weddings in the past year - Dora and Patrick set aside a bit of time to video chat with family members who couldn’t be present! They have family all over the world, so the live stream was a great way to include all of those guests in their big day even though they weren’t able to make the trip to DC.

The DC War Memorial is one of my favorite places to take photos along the National Mall. It’s in such a pretty setting and usually so quiet compared to the other higher traffic areas!

After leaving the DC War Memorial, we made our way over to The Wharf for the reception. Dora and Patrick had the perfect setup for pandemic safety with Del Mar’s outdoor covered patio. With the outdoor airflow and plenty of space for the tables to be spread out, everyone was completely comfortable! And I loved everything from the light fixtures, to the centerpieces, to the plants lining the patio - it all looked amazing!

We lucked out with a perfect evening sunset at The Wharf! Just a few steps away from the restaurant we were able to take a short walk down the pier and capture some beautiful colors. Dora and Patrick actually did their engagement photos at The Wharf too, so it was really fun to come back here with them again!
