Scott's Run Anniversary Session | McLean, VA | Kim and Steve

Scott’s Run Nature Preserve has some of my favorite hiking trails in Northern Virginia, so I was super excited when Kim and Steve wanted to use this location for their anniversary photo session!

Although there’s one large hill on the trail that’ll get ya on the walk back to your car 😂, overall it’s a relatively easy hike that has a beautiful waterfall at the end. The views of the Potomac River are gorgeous too! I’ve done lots of engagement sessions here at both sunrise and sunset, and I love the lighting any time of day.

Most of my clients decide to do an engagement session before their wedding day, but Kim and Steve opted to do an anniversary session a year after their wedding instead! It was so much fun getting to see them again after their big day.

We got so lucky to have the waterfall almost completely to ourselves! (On beautiful days like this there are often other hikers/swimmers enjoying Scott’s Run too.)

And we ended with some sunset photos! It was the perfect summer photo session.
