Tulip Field Surprise Proposal at Burnside Farms | Nokesville, VA | Patrick and Aubree
Patrick has always wanted to get engaged to Aubree in a field full of tulips, and I’m so glad he was able to pull off this proposal! It is not an easy feat to plan tulip photos like this. The flowers only bloom for a couple weeks in April, Patrick and Aubree were traveling in from out of town, tickets to Burnside Farms sometimes sell out, and of course there’s the unpredictable weather to deal with! But Patrick and I settled on a date and crossed our fingers, and thankfully everything fell into place.
It ended up being the LAST day Burnside Farms was open for the spring tulip season and it just happened to coincide with the one day Patrick and Aubree were going to be in Northern Virginia. It worked out perfectly for these two to get engaged in their dream location!
Aubree had no idea the big moment was coming. Afterwards she said that she never expected to be caught off guard with a proposal - she thought for sure Patrick would be acting suspiciously beforehand and give it away 😂 But Patrick kept his cool all day and Aubree was completely surprised!
Showing off his secret engagement ring hiding spot in his sock!
These two are so cute together, and they’re actually high school sweethearts!
Patrick thought ahead and made sure they got to Burnside Farms early. He wanted Aubree to have time to enjoy the tulips before being wrapped up in a surprise photo shoot haha, and also to make sure they had a basket of tulips prepared for the proposal pictures!
The tulips may have been at the tail end of their season, but there were still plenty of flowers left in the fields. It’s seriously such a perfect spot for engagement photos!
Love that golden hour glow! My favorite time for photos.
The night ended with such a beautiful sunset - the perfect way to cap off a perfect day!
